OUR TROOPTroop 16 is a well founded Scout-led Troop. We have a strong tradition of producing Eagle Scouts together with a focus on having fun in a less-formal atmosphere. Our monthly outings provide skill-building and leadership opportunities. They include camping at National Parks, Camps Horace Johnson and Newman; skiing at Mount Du Lac; canoeing the Boundary Waters Canoe Area; ice cream socials; and service projects. Our dedicated and involved adult leadership encourages participation of moms and dads. We have been in continuous operation since 2013.

Who We Are |
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and through over a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. Our History |
In 2013, Scott Tollefson, with encouragement from many others, decided to restart Troop 16 (Troop 16 had been in existence for over 50 years until 2005). With fifteen years of Scoutmaster experience and seven years of Cub Scouting experience, the members of Troop 16 had solid guidance. Once Troop 16 was chartered five leaders were added, two with prior experience and three new to the program. They were all immediately trained for their positions. (Troop 16 is proud to have all leaders fully trained ever since.) Troop 16 also started its new chapter with six boys and currently hosts a twelve boy roster and two Eagle Scouts. Troop 16 was founded on the principal of being a boy lead troop with high adventure being the norm rather than the exception. The Patrol Leaders Council is, and always will be, the guiding force of the unit. Happy boys are retentive boys. After four years Troop 16 has a retention rate of 89.8% which leads to greater advancement and a more well-rounded learning experience. Learning with a purpose is our goal.
